Archiving Policy
THE INCUBATOR: Journal of Postgraduate Studies, Federal University of Lafia is committed to the long-term preservation, accessibility, and integrity of the scholarly record. Published content is archived to support continued access, discovery, and preservation over time. Under the journal’s publication framework, accepted articles may be published, reproduced, distributed, archived, indexed, and disseminated in electronic formats and through recognised databases and repositories.
The journal supports digital preservation through LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, and the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), in line with standard preservation options available to journals hosted on Open Journal Systems (OJS). OJS provides archiving support for LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, and PKP PN, and PKP states that the PKP Preservation Network is designed to preserve OJS journal content for long-term access, particularly for journals not using another preservation service.
Where enabled and properly configured, these services help ensure that published content remains preserved through trusted preservation infrastructure. LOCKSS provides distributed preservation of original journal content, CLOCKSS preserves scholarly content through a community-governed dark archive model, and PKP PN offers preservation support specifically for eligible OJS journals.
The journal also preserves the integrity of the scholarly record through a formal system for corrections, errata, and retractions. Where necessary, published articles may be updated through correction notices or retraction notices, and such notices will remain linked to the original publication in order to maintain transparency and accuracy in the archival record. This approach aligns with the journal’s broader responsibility to preserve not only access to content but also the reliability of the published record.
